Excellent condition Hoffmann postcard featuring Luftwaffe Hauptmann Werner Baumbach 27.12.1916 - 20.10.1953. Baumbach was a highly decorated Luftwaffe Bomber pilot and was the holder of the Knights Cross with Oakleaves and Swords. He also was a recipient of the Pilot Observer Badge with Diamonds.

Rare 1939 Silver Wound Badge L/53 marked.

Very rare silver finished tombak SWB by Hymmen & Co. Looks to have spent a lot of time on a tunic with the silvering worn down to the tombak, still has sharp detail though and a great look to the badge.
The majority of the original silver frosted finish is remaining on the reverse and is stamped L/53.
Perfect working hinge, pin and left facing catch.
